Pharmacy Dispenser Job in Gulu - C-Care Uganda Hospital

Job Summary:
As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of medications and medical supplies to various hospital units and directly to our patients. Your professional demeanor and excellent communication skills will ensure patients receive proper counselling, improving their treatment adherence and overall health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies to patients and hospital departments.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and records of all dispensed medications in accordance with regulatory standards.
• Provide clear, empathetic, and accurate counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock monitoring, ordering, and storage to prevent shortages or expiries.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
• Participate in continuous training and development programmes.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• A Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Valid practising licence from the Allied Health Professionals Council.
• Prior experience as a dispenser or pharmacy technician in a hospital or clinic setting is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, dosage, and interactions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications.
