Job Summary

As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda, you will play a critical role in our pharmacy operations. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of medications and medical supplies to both hospital units and outpatients. Your professional demeanour and clear communication will be essential in counselling patients, ensuring they understand their treatment regimens to improve adherence and health outcomes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies to patients and hospital departments.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and records of all pharmacy transactions in compliance with Ugandan healthcare regulations.
• Provide clear, empathetic, and accurate counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
• Participate in drug inventory management, including stock-taking and ordering to prevent shortages.
• Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organised, and adheres to all safety and hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff to optimise patient treatment plans.
• Handle patient queries professionally and maintain strict confidentiality.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A recognised Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a Ugandan institution.
• Valid practising licence from the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• Proven experience working as a dispenser or pharmacy technician in a Ugandan clinic or hospital setting is a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Luganda.
• Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a high degree of accuracy.
• Computer literacy for managing digital records.
• A compassionate, patient-centred approach and professional integrity.
