The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Program Manager for its Oxygen Programme in Kampala, Uganda. This is a critical leadership role within a renowned organisation committed to strengthening Uganda's health system and saving lives.

About CHAI in Uganda

CHAI partners with the Uganda Ministry of Health and other stakeholders to improve health outcomes across key areas including HIV/AIDS, malaria, tuberculosis, and maternal and child health. The Oxygen Programme specifically aims to improve access to medical oxygen for patients across Uganda, a need highlighted by COVID-19 and other respiratory conditions.

Your Role & Key Responsibilities

As the Program Manager, Oxygen, you will provide strategic leadership and oversee all aspects of programme implementation. You will work at the forefront of public health innovation in Uganda.

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for CHAI's national oxygen scale-up plans.
• Support the Ministry of Health Uganda in developing and implementing policies and systems for medical oxygen.
• Work with partners to improve the procurement, distribution, and maintenance of oxygen equipment nationwide.
• Build the capacity of Ugandan health workers in the clinical management of oxygen therapy.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on programme activities, outcomes, and budget.
• Supervise and mentor programme staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications & Experience Required

• Master's degree in Public Health, Health Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in public health programme management, preferably in Uganda or similar low-resource settings.
• Strong technical knowledge of medical oxygen systems and respiratory care.
• Proven experience working with government health systems in Uganda.
• Excellent project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of local Ugandan languages is a strong asset.
• A deep commitment to CHAI's mission and values.
