C-Care Uganda, a leading provider of quality healthcare services in Uganda, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispenser to join our pharmacy team at our Mbale branch. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified pharmaceutical professional to contribute to patient care in a dynamic hospital environment.
Job Summary
As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our patient care pathway. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of prescribed drugs and medical supplies to both hospital units and outpatients. Your professional conduct and clear communication will ensure patients receive proper counselling, leading to improved treatment adherence and health outcomes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately interpret and dispense prescribed medications to patients and hospital units.
- Maintain meticulous records of all dispensed drugs and supplies in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Provide clear, empathetic, and accurate counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock-taking, ordering, and ensuring proper storage conditions.
- Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Adhere to all national pharmacy regulations and C-Care Uganda's standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and professional pharmacy environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Valid practicing license from the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
- Proven experience as a Dispenser or in a similar role within a Ugandan hospital or clinic is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and at least one local language (Lugisu/Lumasaba proficiency is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and organisational skills.
- High level of integrity, empathy, and a genuine commitment to patient welfare.
- Computer literacy for managing digital records.
