Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist Job at PATH Uganda - Kampala
Job Description
PATH Uganda is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist to join our team in Kampala. This senior role is critical for leading M&E activities across our impactful health programmes in Uganda, ensuring data-driven decision-making and demonstrating results to our partners and donors.
As a key member of our programme team, you will be responsible for designing robust M&E frameworks, managing data collection and analysis, and building the capacity of staff and local partners. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned M&E professional to contribute to meaningful public health outcomes in Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) plans and frameworks for health programmes.
- Develop and manage data collection tools, systems, and databases to ensure accurate and timely information.
- Oversee all data collection, management, analysis, and quality assurance processes.
- Conduct advanced data analysis using statistical software and prepare high-quality reports for programme teams, management, and donors (including USAID and CDC).
- Build the M&E capacity of PATH staff and local partner organisations through training and mentorship.
- Ensure all M&E activities adhere to donor requirements and organisational standards.
- Contribute to programme learning and adaptation by synthesising and disseminating M&E findings.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Masterβs degree in Public Health, Statistics, Epidemiology, Demography, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive, hands-on experience in monitoring and evaluation, specifically within the health sector in Uganda or similar contexts.
- Demonstrated proficiency in statistical software packages such as SPSS, Stata, or R.
- Proven experience with donor reporting mechanisms, particularly for major donors like USAID and CDC.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
- Strong leadership and capacity-building skills with experience training others in M&E methodologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.
