Pharmacy Dispenser Job at C-Care Uganda Hospital in Kireka

Job Summary:
As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our patient care pathway. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of medications and medical supplies to both hospital units and direct clients. Your work ensures patients receive the correct treatment with proper understanding, directly impacting their health outcomes and adherence.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Accurately interpret and process prescriptions from medical officers.
• Prepare, label, and dispense medications and other pharmaceutical supplies to patients and hospital departments.
• Maintain impeccable records of drug stocks, dispensed items, and controlled substances in line with Ugandan regulations.
• Provide clear, empathetic, and accurate counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, side effects, and storage.
• Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of drugs to prevent stock-outs or expiry.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, hygiene, and confidentiality in the pharmacy.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• A recognised Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Valid practising licence from the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• Proven experience as a Dispenser, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting in Uganda.
• Excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medical terminology, and Ugandan drug laws.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and integrity.
• Good computer literacy for inventory and record management.
