Join PATH Uganda as a Malaria Technical Advisor
PATH, a global non-profit organisation dedicated to achieving health equity, is seeking a highly experienced Malaria Technical Advisor for its Kampala office. This is a senior role within the USAID-funded Malaria Action Program for Districts (MAPD) project, offering a unique opportunity to lead and shape malaria control efforts in Uganda.

In Uganda, we work closely with the Ministry of Health and district health teams to strengthen health systems and improve community health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the implementation of malaria prevention, diagnosis, and treatment activities across project districts.
- Develop and implement comprehensive malaria training and capacity building programmes for health workers.
- Offer technical assistance for planning and executing malaria mass drug administration (MDA) campaigns.
- Support the strengthening of malaria surveillance, monitoring, and evaluation systems in line with MOH guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of project work plans, quarterly reports, and other technical documents for donors and stakeholders.
- Represent the MAPD project in national and district-level technical meetings, workshops, and forums.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Medical degree (MBChB) or Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in malaria programming within Uganda or similar sub-Saharan African contexts.
- Proven technical knowledge of WHO and Uganda MOH malaria guidelines for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with the Uganda Ministry of Health and District Health Teams (DHTs).
- Prior experience with USAID-funded health projects is a strong advantage.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of local languages is beneficial.
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
