Job Description
PATH, a global leader in public health innovation, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled M&E professional to contribute to impactful health programmes that improve lives across Uganda.
As an M&E Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness and accountability of our health interventions. You will be at the heart of data-driven decision-making, working closely with programme teams to measure results, demonstrate impact, and guide strategic improvements.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive M&E frameworks and plans for various health programmes.
- Design robust data collection tools, systems, and databases for effective programme monitoring, with a focus on Uganda's health context.
- Conduct routine Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) and validation exercises to ensure the integrity of health data.
- Analyse both quantitative and qualitative programme data using advanced statistical software.
- Prepare high-quality, timely performance reports for programme teams, management, and donors.
- Build the capacity of programme staff in M&E concepts, tools, and data utilisation practices.
- Support the documentation of best practices, success stories, and lessons learned from programme implementation.
- Contribute significantly to donor reporting requirements and support internal and external programme evaluations.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, Demography, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven, hands-on experience in monitoring and evaluation, specifically within the health sector in Uganda.
- Strong technical skills in quantitative and qualitative data analysis and visualisation.
- Practical experience with health information systems, including DHIS2 and Uganda's Health Management Information System (HMIS).
- High proficiency in using statistical software packages such as SPSS, STATA, or R.
- Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- A proactive individual with strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to data quality.
