PATH, a global leader in public health innovation, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a pivotal role for a professional passionate about improving health outcomes through robust data systems and evidence-based programming. You will play a key part in strengthening our health programmes across Uganda, ensuring we track impact, learn, and adapt for maximum effectiveness.
As an M&E Officer with PATH, you will work at the heart of our programme implementation, collaborating with dynamic teams to generate insights that drive decision-making. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful health projects in the Ugandan context while developing your expertise with a renowned international organisation.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive M&E plans and frameworks for various health programmes in Uganda.
- Collect, clean, analyse, and synthesise programme data to track performance against targets and indicators.
- Design and support the deployment of data collection tools, including electronic systems, and manage programme databases.
- Conduct routine Data Quality Assessments (DQAs) to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all reported information.
- Build the capacity of programme staff through training on M&E methodologies, data management, and reporting processes.
- Prepare and contribute to high-quality donor reports, programme presentations, and documentation of lessons learned.
- Support programme teams in utilising data for strategic planning and adaptive management.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- A Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Public Health, Social Sciences, Demography, or a closely related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the public health sector in Uganda or the East African region.
- Proven technical skills in data analysis and visualisation using software like Microsoft Excel (advanced), SPSS, STATA, or R.
- Practical experience with database management systems (e.g., DHIS2, Access) and electronic data collection tools (e.g., ODK, KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex data to diverse audiences.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
