Job Description

PATH Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Officer to join our Immunization team in Kampala. This is a fantastic opportunity for a public health professional to contribute directly to improving immunisation coverage and equity across Uganda, working in close partnership with the Ministry of Health and district health teams.

In this critical role, you will support the implementation of life-saving immunisation programmes. You will be instrumental in planning activities, building the capacity of health workers, and ensuring data-driven decisions to protect children and communities from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of immunisation activities in target regions.
  • Assist in developing training materials and job aids for health workers to improve service delivery.
  • Conduct regular supportive supervision and mentoring visits to health facilities.
  • Collect, manage, and analyse immunisation data to track progress and inform programme strategy.
  • Prepare detailed progress reports for donors, PATH, and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate effectively with district health teams (DHTs) and partner organisations.
  • Represent PATH in relevant immunisation workshops, meetings, and technical working groups.
  • Travel frequently to various project sites within Uganda.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in immunisation or maternal and child health (MCH) programmes in Uganda.
  • Proven experience working with the Uganda Ministry of Health and District Health Teams is essential.
  • Strong skills in data management, analysis, and use of health management information systems (HMIS).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems in a dynamic environment.

What We Offer:
PATH offers a competitive remuneration package within the NGO sector and the opportunity to work with a leading global health organisation. You will gain invaluable experience, contribute to meaningful public health impact, and be part of a supportive and mission-driven team dedicated to health equity in Uganda.

If you are a passionate public health practitioner ready to advance your career in immunisation, we encourage you to apply.
