Laboratory Technologist Job at C-Care Uganda in Entebbe

About the Role:
As a Laboratory Technologist at C-Care Uganda, you will play a critical role in our diagnostic services. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and accurate processing of patient specimens, from collection to final reporting, adhering strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform the day-to-day operational running of the laboratory department.
• Identify and execute the best methods for specimen collection and retrieval.
• Prepare and process various biological specimens for laboratory testing.
• Conduct a range of diagnostic tests using modern laboratory equipment.
• Accurately analyse test results and prepare detailed reports for clinicians.
• Strictly follow established SOPs, safety protocols, and quality assurance measures.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all laboratory activities.
• Collaborate effectively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety standards, and quality control.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
