About the Role

As a Network Engineer at Airtel Uganda, you will be responsible for the planning, implementation, optimisation, and maintenance of our robust national network infrastructure. You will ensure network reliability, security, and performance to deliver exceptional service to millions of Airtel customers across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement Airtel's core network infrastructure and systems
• Perform routine network maintenance, upgrades, and performance optimisation
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot technical issues promptly
• Implement and maintain network security protocols and best practices
• Manage 4G/LTE network elements and fibre optic infrastructure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network projects and expansions
• Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field from a recognised Ugandan or international university
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in telecom network operations or engineering
• Strong technical knowledge of 4G/LTE technologies, IP networking, and fibre optics
• Practical experience with network security protocols and implementation
• Proficiency with network monitoring tools and diagnostic software
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Professional certifications (CCNA, CCNP, or similar) will be an added advantage
