IT Security Specialist Job at MTN Uganda in Kampala

As an IT Security Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding MTN Uganda's systems. You will implement robust security measures, proactively monitor for threats, and ensure our compliance with industry standards and local regulations. Key Responsibilities:

• Implement, maintain, and monitor comprehensive IT security systems and controls.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.
• Lead the rapid response to security incidents, including investigation, containment, and remediation.
• Develop and manage vulnerability management programmes to ensure systems are patched and secure.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training programmes for staff across the organisation.
• Implement and enforce IT security policies, standards, and procedures in line with best practice frameworks.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies relevant to the Ugandan and regional context.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
• Professional certification such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) is mandatory.
• A minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in IT security, cybersecurity, or information risk management.
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST) and relevant compliance requirements.
• Proven experience in security monitoring tools, incident response, and vulnerability management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
