Monitoring and Evaluation Officer Job in Kampala - International Labour Organization (ILO)
Job Description
The International Labour Organization (ILO) is seeking a qualified and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join its team in Kampala, Uganda. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful development projects and ensure effective tracking of programme impact in the Ugandan context.
As a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer with the ILO in Uganda, you will play a critical role in assessing project performance and outcomes. You will be responsible for developing robust M&E frameworks tailored to local needs, tracking progress against set targets, and providing data-driven insights to guide programme implementation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive monitoring and evaluation frameworks for ILO projects in Uganda.
- Track and analyse project progress, outputs, and outcomes using appropriate data collection tools.
- Prepare high-quality periodic reports for management, donors, and stakeholders.
- Build the capacity of project staff and partners in M&E systems and data management.
- Conduct field visits to verify data and assess project implementation on the ground.
- Ensure all M&E activities align with ILO standards and Ugandan national development plans.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation, preferably within the international development sector in Uganda or East Africa.
- Proven proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA, R, Excel Advanced) and data visualisation tools.
- Strong understanding of results-based management (RBM) principles and logical framework approaches.
- Excellent analytical, report-writing, and communication skills in English.
- Experience working with government ministries, development partners, and civil society organisations in Uganda is a strong asset.
