Job Description
C-Care Uganda, a leading healthcare provider, is seeking a dedicated and qualified Medical Laboratory Technician to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to high-quality patient diagnostics and care in a reputable healthcare environment.
As a Medical Laboratory Technician at C-Care, you will play a critical role in our diagnostic services. You will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Collect, prepare, and analyse patient samples including blood, tissue, and other bodily fluids.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Perform routine and specialised haematological, microbiological, biochemical, and immunological tests.
- Accurately record, analyse, and interpret test results, ensuring timely reporting to medical staff.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols, quality control procedures, and infection prevention standards.
- Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records and patient data in compliance with regulations.
- Assist in inventory management of laboratory supplies and reagents.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must possess a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognised institution.
- Valid annual practicing license from the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience working in a medical laboratory setting.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety standards, and quality assurance.
- Proficiency in using modern laboratory information systems (LIS) is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
