Lead Mechanical Engineer Job at TotalEnergies Uganda | Oil & Gas Careers

TotalEnergies EP Uganda is seeking a highly experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team in Uganda. This is a regular, full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to Uganda's growing oil and gas sector. Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical engineering team in the design, analysis, and maintenance of oil and gas production facilities and equipment.
• Ensure all mechanical engineering activities comply with TotalEnergies' safety standards, Ugandan regulations, and international best practices.
• Oversee project planning, budgeting, and execution for mechanical systems, including pipelines, pressure vessels, and rotating equipment.
• Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including civil, electrical, and process engineers, to ensure project integration and success.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies for mechanical systems.
• Manage contractor performance and ensure quality assurance for all mechanical works.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from a recognised institution. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering within the oil and gas industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Professional registration with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) of Uganda is mandatory.
• In-depth knowledge of industry standards (ASME, API, ISO) and Ugandan petroleum regulations.
• Proven experience with engineering software and project management tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
