About the Role

As a Laboratory Technologist at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our diagnostic services. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and accurate processing of laboratory specimens, following strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) to deliver reliable test results that support patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out the day-to-day operational running of the laboratory department.
• Identify and implement the best methods for specimen collection and retrieval.
• Prepare and process various specimens for laboratory testing.
• Perform a range of diagnostic testing procedures with precision and accuracy.
• Adhere strictly to established SOPs, safety protocols, and quality assurance standards.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to manufacturer and facility guidelines.
• Ensure timely and efficient delivery of accurate laboratory reports to clinicians.
• Maintain detailed and organised laboratory records.
• Participate in quality control and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognised institution.
• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• At least 2 years of practical experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, hematology, microbiology, and clinical chemistry.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
