About the Role

As a Laboratory Technologist at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our diagnostic services, ensuring accurate and timely laboratory results that support effective patient treatment. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the laboratory department, maintaining the highest standards of medical laboratory practice.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing procedures following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Identify appropriate methods for specimen collection and retrieval
• Prepare specimens for laboratory analysis and testing
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to established protocols
• Ensure efficient delivery of accurate laboratory reports to medical staff
• Maintain quality control standards and participate in quality assurance programmes
• Adhere to infection prevention and control measures in the laboratory
• Maintain proper documentation and records of all laboratory procedures
• Collaborate with medical teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment

Requirements and Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognised institution
• Valid practising licence from Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a medical laboratory setting
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in testing procedures
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer literacy for laboratory information systems
