IT Support Specialist Job in Kampala - Equity Group Holdings

Equity Group Holdings, a leading financial services institution in East Africa, is seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team in Kampala. This is an exciting opportunity to provide essential technical support and ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure in Uganda.

About the Role:
As an IT Support Specialist at Equity Group Holdings, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting our hardware, software, and network systems. You will be the first point of contact for technical issues, playing a crucial role in minimising downtime and supporting our staff to deliver excellent service to our customers across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide first-line technical support for hardware (desktops, laptops, printers), software applications, and network systems.
• Install, configure, and update operating systems, primarily Windows and Linux.
• Troubleshoot and resolve IT issues reported by staff, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Perform routine maintenance and system checks to ensure network and system security.
• Assist with the setup of new user accounts and workstations.
• Maintain accurate records of technical issues, solutions, and inventory.
• Collaborate with the wider IT team on projects and system improvements.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in an IT support role, preferably within the Ugandan market.
• Strong practical knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
• Familiarity with network fundamentals and cybersecurity principles is an advantage.
