Job Summary

As an IT Support Specialist at Old Mutual Uganda, you will be the frontline technical expert responsible for ensuring smooth IT operations across our Kampala offices. You will provide critical technical support to our staff, troubleshoot issues, and help maintain our robust IT infrastructure, contributing directly to our operational excellence in Uganda's financial sector.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide first-line and second-line technical support to staff members across the Kampala office
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues promptly
• Perform regular maintenance and updates on IT equipment and systems
• Assist the IT team with network administration and configuration tasks
• Implement and monitor IT security measures to protect company data and systems
• Set up and configure new workstations, laptops, and peripheral devices
• Maintain accurate documentation of IT procedures and issue resolutions
• Provide basic training to staff on IT systems and best practices
• Collaborate with regional IT teams on larger projects and initiatives

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field from a recognised Ugandan or international institution
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in IT support or a similar technical role
• Strong practical knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite
• Solid understanding of computer hardware, networking fundamentals, and troubleshooting methodologies
• Professional IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional) will be a significant advantage
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure
• Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users clearly
