Key Responsibilities & Duties

As an IT Support Specialist at Old Mutual Uganda, you will play a vital role in ensuring our technology infrastructure runs smoothly. Your primary duties will include:

• Providing first and second-line technical support for hardware, software, and network systems to staff across the organisation.
• Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving IT issues promptly to minimise downtime.
• Performing routine maintenance and updates on computer systems and servers.
• Assisting the IT team with planning and implementing new IT projects and system upgrades.
• Maintaining accurate records of IT assets, issues, and solutions.
• Offering user training and guidance on best practices for software and hardware use.
• Ensuring all IT activities comply with the company's security policies and standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

To be successful in this IT Support Specialist role, you should meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field from a recognised institution.
• A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in an IT support or technical helpdesk role.
• Strong practical knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Professional certification such as CCNA is highly preferred and will be a significant advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service orientation.
