Head of Information Technology Job at NCBA Bank Uganda - Kampala

NCBA Bank Uganda, a leading financial institution, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to fill the position of Head, Information Technology. This senior role is based in Kampala and is a critical leadership position within our Information Technology division, specifically overseeing the IT Operations and Enterprise Projects unit.

As the Head of IT, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, and management for the bank's entire technology infrastructure. You will ensure the stability, security, and innovation of our IT systems to support business growth and deliver exceptional customer service in Uganda's competitive banking sector.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Develop and execute the bank's IT strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
• Lead and manage the IT Operations and Enterprise Projects teams.
• Oversee the management, maintenance, and security of all core banking systems, networks, and hardware.
• Drive digital transformation initiatives and the implementation of new enterprise technology solutions.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and disaster recovery capabilities for all critical IT services.
• Manage the IT budget, vendor relationships, and procurement processes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements from the Bank of Uganda and other relevant bodies.
• Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence within the IT department.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, ITIL) is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the banking or financial services sector in Uganda or East Africa.
• Proven expertise in core banking systems, IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and project management.
• Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape for financial technology in Uganda.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
