Job Description

dfcu Bank, one of Uganda's leading financial institutions, is seeking a dedicated IT Service Support Specialist to join their dynamic team in Kampala. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled IT professional to contribute to the bank's digital transformation and ensure seamless technology operations for customers and staff across Uganda.

About the Role:
As an IT Service Support Specialist at dfcu Bank, you will be responsible for providing first-line technical support, troubleshooting IT issues, and maintaining the bank's technology infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in ensuring high system availability and excellent service delivery to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
β€’ Provide timely first and second-level IT support for hardware, software, and network issues.
β€’ Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, applications, and peripheral devices.
β€’ Monitor system performance and respond to service desk tickets efficiently.
β€’ Assist with user account management and access control in line with bank security policies.
β€’ Document technical procedures and solutions for the knowledge base.
β€’ Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve complex technical problems.
β€’ Support the rollout of new technologies and systems within the bank.
β€’ Ensure all IT activities comply with the bank's policies and regulatory requirements in Uganda.

Requirements:
β€’ Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a recognised institution.
β€’ Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in IT support or a similar technical role, preferably in the banking or financial services sector in Uganda.
β€’ Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office 365, and common banking applications.
β€’ Understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN) and hardware troubleshooting.
β€’ Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused attitude.
β€’ Professional certifications like CompTIA A+, ITIL, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are an added advantage.
β€’ Strong communication skills in English.
