IT Security Specialist Job at National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Uganda

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Uganda is seeking a skilled and experienced Mass Market IT Security Specialist to join our dynamic team. This is a critical role responsible for safeguarding our extensive digital infrastructure and protecting the sensitive data of our members across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive IT security strategies for mass-market digital platforms.
• Monitor network traffic and systems for security breaches and investigate violations when they occur.
• Install and configure security software, including firewalls, anti-virus programs, and data encryption tools.
• Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
• Respond immediately to security incidents and provide thorough post-event analysis.
• Develop and deliver IT security awareness training for staff and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan data protection regulations and international security standards.
• Collaborate with IT teams to design secure system architectures for new projects.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in IT security, preferably within the financial services, telecom, or a large-scale public sector organisation in Uganda.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, security frameworks, and cyber threat landscapes relevant to the Ugandan and East African context.
• Strong experience with security tools for intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, and log analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information.
