KCB Bank Uganda, a leading financial institution, is seeking a talented and experienced IT Application Developer/DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. About the Role

As an IT Application Developer/DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining our core banking applications and systems. You will bridge the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring seamless delivery and reliability of our digital services to customers across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software applications for banking operations.
• Implement and manage CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment) pipelines to automate software delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, system operators, and business analysts.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise application performance and system infrastructure.
• Ensure system security and compliance with banking regulations in Uganda.
• Manage cloud infrastructure and on-premises servers for optimal application hosting.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in software development and DevOps practices.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or .NET.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of database management systems (SQL and NoSQL).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced banking environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
