Job Description
PATH Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Officer for Immunization to join our team in Kampala. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to improving public health and achieving health equity in Uganda through vital immunisation programmes.
PATH is a global non-profit organisation with over 40 years of experience tackling the world's most pressing health challenges. In Uganda, we work in close partnership with the Ministry of Health and district health teams to strengthen health systems and increase immunisation coverage.
Job Summary
As a Program Officer, Immunisation, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation and coordination of immunisation activities across Uganda. You will work under the guidance of the Program Manager to ensure the successful planning, monitoring, and reporting of project deliverables aimed at improving immunisation equity and access.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the planning and implementation of immunisation programme activities in target districts.
- Coordinate effectively with District Health Teams (DHTs) and other partners to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Monitor project progress, compile data, and prepare regular performance reports for stakeholders.
- Assist in organising training workshops and capacity-building sessions for health workers.
- Conduct supportive supervision visits and data quality assessments at health facilities.
- Participate in relevant technical working groups, meetings, and workshops.
- Contribute to the development of project documents, tools, and communication materials.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working on immunisation or public health programmes in Uganda.
- Strong knowledge of Uganda's Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI) and related health policies.
- Excellent organisational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Outstanding communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within Uganda.
