Watu, a leading company with a growing presence across Africa, is seeking a dedicated and strategic Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HR professional to play a key role in driving people strategy and supporting business growth in a dynamic and impactful organisation.

About the Role

As an HR Business Partner at Watu, you will be the strategic link between the HR function and our business operations in Tanzania. You will work closely with management and employees to develop and implement HR initiatives that support our goals, foster a positive work culture, and enhance employee performance and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to understand organisational needs and develop effective HR strategies.
• Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, and talent development.
• Lead and support the full employee lifecycle processes, including recruitment, onboarding, and retention.
• Analyse HR metrics to provide data-driven insights and recommendations to management.
• Ensure compliance with Tanzanian labour laws and company policies.
• Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on all HR-related matters.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of HR programmes and initiatives across the region.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or HR certification is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar senior HR generalist role.
• In-depth knowledge of Tanzanian labour legislation and HR best practices.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to align HR strategy with business objectives.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment, preferably within the East African region.
• Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
