Job Description
Diageo, a global leader in beverage alcohol, is seeking a strategic and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Kampala. This is a senior-level opportunity for an HR professional to drive people strategy and support our business growth in Uganda.
About the Role
As an HR Business Partner at Diageo Uganda, you will be a key strategic advisor to business unit leaders. You will align HR initiatives with business objectives to foster a high-performance culture, manage talent, and ensure organisational effectiveness. This role is central to our commitment to building capability and driving engagement across our operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic HR support and partnership to designated business units.
- Lead talent management processes, including succession planning, talent development, and retention strategies.
- Manage complex employee relations matters with professionalism and in compliance with Ugandan labour laws.
- Drive the performance management cycle to ensure clear goals, feedback, and development.
- Contribute to organisational development initiatives and change management projects.
- Analyse HR metrics to provide insights and recommendations for business improvement.
- Collaborate with the wider HR team to implement regional and global HR programmes locally.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a generalist or business partner HR role.
- Proven experience in talent management, performance management, and employee relations.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of Ugandan employment and labour laws.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to think strategically.
- Experience in a multinational FMCG or manufacturing environment is a strong advantage.
