About the Role
As an HR Business Partner at Diageo Uganda, you will be a strategic partner to business leaders, developing and delivering HR strategies that directly support our business objectives in the Ugandan market. You will provide expert guidance, drive talent initiatives, and foster a positive and productive work environment for our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders in Uganda to understand their needs and develop aligned HR strategies.
- Provide expert advice on HR policies, Ugandan labour laws, and best practices.
- Lead full-cycle talent management, including recruitment, performance management, and succession planning.
- Drive employee engagement, development, and retention programmes.
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary matters in line with local regulations.
- Ensure full compliance with Ugandan employment laws and Diageo's global standards.
- Analyse HR metrics to provide data-driven insights for business decisions.
- Lead and support organisational change and transformation initiatives within the East African market.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Bachelorβs degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a dedicated HR Business Partner role.
- In-depth knowledge of HR practices and a strong understanding of Ugandan labour laws.
- Proven experience in talent management, employee relations, and organisational development.
- Previous experience in a multinational corporation or the FMCG industry is highly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in HR information systems and digital tools.
