Job Description
Diageo, a global leader in beverage alcohol, is seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resources Business Partner to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior-level opportunity to provide strategic HR support and drive people initiatives within our dynamic business units.
About the Role:
As an HR Business Partner at Diageo Uganda, you will be a key strategic partner to business leaders. You will implement HR strategies that align with our business objectives, foster a positive work environment, and support the growth and development of our talented workforce in Uganda. This role is central to managing employee relations, talent development, and ensuring full compliance with Ugandan labour laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner closely with business leaders to develop and implement effective HR strategies and initiatives.
- Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, grievance handling, and disciplinary processes in line with Ugandan law.
- Lead and support talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning efforts for the Uganda market.
- Oversee the implementation of performance management processes to drive high performance.
- Collaborate on designing and delivering learning and development programmes for employees.
- Ensure strict compliance with all Diageo HR policies, procedures, and Ugandan labour legislation.
- Provide expert HR consulting and coaching to managers on people-related matters.
- Analyse HR metrics to provide insights and support data-driven decision-making.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR generalist or business partner experience.
- Proven experience working in a multinational corporation (MNC) is highly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge and practical application of Ugandan labour laws and employment regulations.
- Strong experience in talent management, organisational development, and change management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consulting skills.
- A professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM) will be a distinct advantage.
