HSSE Manager - Health, Safety, Security & Environment - ME Uganda Buliisa

ME Uganda is seeking an experienced Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Manager to join our dynamic team in Buliisa, Uganda. This senior role offers an exciting opportunity to lead our HSSE initiatives and ensure compliance with Ugandan regulations while maintaining international standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive HSSE management systems
• Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits across all operations
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan HSSE legislation and company policies
• Coordinate emergency response planning and crisis management
• Deliver HSSE training programmes to staff and contractors
• Manage environmental impact assessments and sustainability initiatives
• Prepare and submit HSSE performance reports to management
• Liaise with regulatory authorities and local community stakeholders

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
• Minimum 5 years' experience in HSSE management, preferably in oil & gas or construction
• Professional certification in HSSE (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent)
• Thorough knowledge of Ugandan HSSE regulations and international standards
• Strong leadership and communication skills in English
• Experience working in Western Uganda region preferred
