Health Systems Strengthening Advisor Job in Kampala - PATH Uganda

PATH Uganda is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Health Systems Strengthening Advisor to join our team in Kampala. This senior-level role is critical for providing technical leadership and strategic direction to enhance Uganda's health system, working in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other key partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical assistance and leadership in health systems strengthening (HSS) initiatives across Uganda.
• Work with government bodies and development partners to improve health service delivery, health financing, human resources for health, and health information systems.
• Conduct comprehensive health system assessments and develop evidence-based strategies and plans.
• Build the capacity of local stakeholders, including government officials and health workers, through training and mentorship.
• Actively contribute to national policy dialogue and the development of health sector guidelines.
• Prepare high-quality reports, proposals, and documentation for donors and partners.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• An advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Public Health, Health Economics, Health Policy, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive, hands-on experience in health systems strengthening, preferably within the Ugandan or East African context.
• In-depth knowledge of Uganda's health system, its structure, policies, and key challenges.
• Proven expertise in one or more HSS building blocks: service delivery, financing, workforce, information systems, or governance.
• Exceptional skills in stakeholder facilitation, coordination, and partnership management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
