This is a senior-level opportunity based in Kampala, Uganda, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening the national health system to improve service delivery and health outcomes for all Ugandans.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide high-level technical leadership and assistance in health systems strengthening (HSS) to the Government of Uganda and implementing partners.
• Support the development, review, and implementation of national health policies, strategies, and guidelines.
• Design and lead capacity-building initiatives for health workers, district health managers, and other stakeholders in health systems management.
• Foster collaboration and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health, to enhance coordinated health service delivery.
• Monitor, evaluate, and analyse the effectiveness of health systems interventions, providing evidence-based recommendations for improvement.
• Contribute to high-quality project reports, documentation, and knowledge-sharing products.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• A Master's degree in Public Health, Health Systems Management, Health Economics, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive, hands-on experience in health systems strengthening programmes within Uganda or similar contexts.
• Proven experience working directly with the Uganda Ministry of Health and a deep understanding of the Ugandan health sector landscape.
• Strong technical knowledge across key health system components: governance, financing, health workforce, service delivery, information systems, and medical products.
• Excellent facilitation, training, and mentorship skills with a track record of building local capacity.
• Outstanding communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
