Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Uganda is seeking an experienced and dedicated Health Program Manager to lead and oversee our health programming initiatives. This senior role based in Kampala offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on public health outcomes across Uganda while working with a respected international NGO.

About the Role

As Health Program Manager, you will provide technical leadership and management for CRS Uganda's health portfolio, ensuring high-quality implementation of complex projects that serve vulnerable communities. You will lead project cycles from design through close-out, manage talented teams, and strengthen partnerships to advance health outcomes in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage complete project cycles for health programmes including design, implementation, monitoring and close-out
• Provide technical oversight and ensure compliance with CRS quality standards and donor requirements
• Lead, supervise and mentor health programme staff and partner teams
• Develop and implement capacity strengthening plans for partner organisations
• Monitor project finances and resources to ensure efficient utilisation
• Lead project design and proposal development for new health initiatives
• Build and maintain strategic partnerships with government, donors and other NGOs
• Promote learning and adaptive management within health programming

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Essential Requirements:
• Master's degree in Public Health, Health Administration or related field
• Minimum 5 years' experience managing health programmes in an international NGO setting
• Proven expertise in health programming for developing country contexts
• Strong leadership, team management and supervisory skills
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Willingness to travel up to 30% within Uganda and regionally
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)

• Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous work experience in Uganda or East Africa
• Familiarity with CRS policies, procedures and values
• Experience managing US Government-funded projects
