Head of Information Technology Job at NCBA Bank Uganda - Kampala

NCBA Bank Uganda is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Information Technology to lead our technology operations and enterprise projects in Kampala. This is a senior executive role for a visionary leader who will drive digital transformation, ensure system stability, and align IT strategy with our business objectives in Uganda's competitive banking sector.

As the Head of IT, you will be responsible for overseeing all technology infrastructure, managing enterprise projects, and leading a talented team of IT professionals. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our digital banking services and ensuring secure, efficient operations for our customers across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute the bank's IT strategy and digital transformation roadmap
• Oversee all IT operations, including network infrastructure, core banking systems, and cybersecurity
• Lead major enterprise technology projects from conception to implementation
• Manage the IT budget, vendor relationships, and procurement processes
• Ensure compliance with Bank of Uganda regulations and international security standards
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing IT team in Kampala
• Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new technologies to improve customer experience
• Maintain disaster recovery plans and ensure business continuity

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Minimum of 8 years' experience in IT leadership within the banking or financial services sector
• Proven experience with core banking systems, digital channels, and financial technology
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance in Uganda
• Excellent project management skills with PMP or similar certification
• Demonstrated ability to manage large budgets and vendor relationships
• Leadership experience with teams of 10+ IT professionals
