Harvest Supervisor Job in Butembe-Buikwe at Yalelo Uganda

Yalelo Uganda, a leading aquaculture enterprise, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Harvest Supervisor to join our Lake Operations team in Butembe-Buikwe. This is a full-time position where you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and high-quality harvest of our fish, directly contributing to Uganda's growing aquaculture sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate all daily harvest operations on Lake Victoria.
• Supervise a team of harvest personnel, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor fish quality, health, and handling from harvest to initial processing stages.
• Maintain accurate records of harvest yields, equipment usage, and team performance.
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate logistics with transport and processing teams for timely product movement.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions on-site.
• Train and mentor junior team members on best harvest practices.

Requirements:

• Proven experience (3+ years) in a supervisory role within aquaculture, fisheries, or a related agricultural processing field.
• Strong practical knowledge of fish harvesting techniques and live fish handling.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
• Good understanding of quality control and safety standards.
• A diploma or degree in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Agriculture, or a related field is an added advantage.
• Must be resident in or willing to relocate to the Butembe-Buikwe area.
