NCBA Bank Uganda Limited, a leading financial institution in Uganda's banking sector, is seeking a meticulous and analytical GL Reconciliation Officer to join our Financial Controls team in Kampala. This is a vital role within our finance department, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our general ledger accounts and supporting the bank's financial reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation of all general ledger accounts.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between the general ledger and subsidiary systems in a timely manner.
• Prepare detailed reconciliation reports and schedules for management review.
• Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Work closely with the Financial Controls Manager and other finance teams to strengthen internal controls.
• Identify process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the reconciliation process.
• Ensure compliance with the bank's policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements in Uganda.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

What We Are Looking For (Requirements):

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA) is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in a reconciliation, accounting, or audit role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector in Uganda.
• Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with core banking or ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
