Job Description
Pearl Bank Uganda is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional for the position of Manager, Assets & Liabilities Management (ALM). This is a senior-level career opportunity in Kampala for a finance expert to oversee the bank's balance sheet strategy, manage financial risks, and ensure optimal liquidity and profitability.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop and implement the bank's overall Assets & Liabilities Management (ALM) strategy and policies.
- Monitor and manage interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and currency risk in alignment with regulatory requirements from the Bank of Uganda.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, forecasting, and stress testing of the bank's balance sheet.
- Prepare and present ALCO (Asset Liability Committee) reports, providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Optimise the bank's funding mix and investment portfolio to enhance net interest margin and shareholder value.
- Ensure compliance with all internal controls and statutory reporting requirements related to capital adequacy and liquidity.
- Lead and mentor a team of analysts within the Treasury or Finance department.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CFA) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Treasury, ALM, Risk Management, or Corporate Finance within the banking or financial services sector in Uganda.
- In-depth knowledge of Bank of Uganda regulations, financial markets, and banking products.
- Strong analytical, modelling, and data interpretation skills using advanced Excel and financial software.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation abilities.
