Financial Accountant Job at National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Uganda
Job Description
The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) Uganda is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team. As Uganda's leading social security provider, we are committed to enhancing the financial well-being of our members. This role is central to maintaining the Fund's financial integrity and supporting our strategic goal of becoming the Social Security Provider of Choice.
In this position, you will play a key role in our finance department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with Ugandan accounting standards. Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Ugandan regulations.
• Manage general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Fund.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments, receipts, and payroll contributions.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
• Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and procedures.
• Prepare statutory returns for regulatory bodies like URA and Bank of Uganda.
• Analyse financial data and provide insights to support management decision-making.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Full professional accounting qualification (CPA or ACCA).
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in financial accounting, preferably within a large corporate, financial services, or public sector entity in Uganda.
• In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Ugandan tax laws.
• High proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and unwavering integrity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
