Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee all financial operations, budgeting, and financial reporting for Old Mutual Uganda
- Develop and implement financial planning strategies to support business growth
- Ensure compliance with Ugandan financial regulations, IFRS standards, and internal policies
- Manage risk assessment and implement effective financial risk management frameworks
- Provide strategic financial insights and analysis to support executive decision-making
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure timely month-end and year-end closures
- Lead and coordinate internal and external audit processes
- Optimise financial processes and systems for improved efficiency
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial forecasting
- Supervise and mentor finance team members
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field from a recognised institution
- Professional certification: CPA or ACCA (required)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance management, preferably in insurance or financial services
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Ugandan financial regulations
- Proficiency in financial management software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing teams
- High level of integrity and ethical standards
