Finance Manager Career Opportunity at Diageo Uganda

Diageo, a global leader in premium drinks, is seeking an experienced and qualified Finance Manager to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior leadership role where you will oversee all financial operations for our Ugandan business, ensuring financial health, compliance, and strategic growth in one of Africa's most dynamic markets.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Lead and manage the complete finance function for Diageo Uganda, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and analysis for senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensure strict compliance with Ugandan financial regulations, tax laws, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Develop and implement robust financial controls and risk management strategies.
• Manage cash flow, treasury operations, and capital expenditure planning.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the local finance team to achieve high performance.
• Provide strategic financial insights to support business decisions and drive profitability within the FMCG/manufacturing sector.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and global finance colleagues.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised university.
• A full professional accounting qualification such as CPA(U) or ACCA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management or leadership role.
• Proven experience within the manufacturing, brewing, or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is highly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Ugandan tax legislation, financial reporting standards (IFRS), and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with major financial management systems and software.
