Diageo, a world leader in premium drinks, is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Finance Manager to oversee financial operations for our East Africa business, with a primary focus on Uganda. This is a senior leadership role based in Kampala, offering an exceptional opportunity to drive financial strategy for a leading multinational FMCG company in the region.
About the Role
As the Finance Manager for East Africa, you will be the financial steward for our operations, ensuring robust financial planning, accurate reporting, and strict regulatory compliance. You will play a pivotal role in shaping business decisions through insightful analysis and leading a talented finance team in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports for East Africa.
- Develop, manage, and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate business performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure full compliance with all Ugandan tax regulations (URA), IFRS accounting standards, and local statutory requirements.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to optimise financial health.
- Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and professional development for the finance team.
- Collaborate with senior management to drive cost efficiency and profitability initiatives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised university.
- Full professional accounting qualification: CPA(U), ACCA, or equivalent is mandatory.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance management, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
- Proven experience working within a multinational corporation, preferably in the FMCG, manufacturing, or beverage industry.
- Expert knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Ugandan tax laws.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- High proficiency in financial modelling and ERP systems (SAP experience is a strong advantage).
