Job Summary

The Finance Officer will provide comprehensive financial management support to World Vision Uganda's programmes, ensuring compliance with financial policies, preparing accurate reports, and supporting effective budget management for donor-funded projects.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare and review timely financial reports for donors and senior management
• Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure efficient resource utilisation
• Ensure strict compliance with organisational and donor financial policies and procedures
• Process payments and manage accounts payable and receivable functions
• Support internal and external audit processes with proper documentation
• Provide financial training and technical support to programme staff
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation according to standards
• Contribute to financial planning and forecasting activities

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field from a recognised institution
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA or ACCA) is a strong advantage
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance, preferably within NGO sector
• Proven experience with donor-funded projects and reporting requirements (USAID, EU, UN agencies, etc.)
• High proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Commitment to World Vision's mission, vision, and core values
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
