Key Responsibilities

• Support comprehensive financial management and accounting activities for UNHCR Uganda operations
• Ensure strict compliance with UN/UNHCR financial regulations, rules, and procedures
• Provide technical guidance and support to staff and implementing partners on financial matters
• Contribute to developing and implementing financial policies, procedures, and control systems
• Support budget preparation, monitoring, and financial reporting processes
• Facilitate effective communication and coordination with internal and external stakeholders
• Contribute to financial initiatives and projects aligned with organisational strategic objectives
• Support audit processes and implement recommended improvements

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or audit roles
• Strong knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS)
• Proven experience with financial management systems and ERP software
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience working with UN agencies, NGOs, or international organisations in Uganda
• Fluency in English with strong report writing abilities
