Compassion International Uganda is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Officer to join our team in Kampala. Key Responsibilities & Duties:
As a Finance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and efficiency of our operations. Your core duties will include:
- Processing and recording all financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all invoices and payments are handled correctly.
- Performing monthly reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets, financial reports, and forecasts for management review.
- Maintaining organised and up-to-date financial records and filing systems in compliance with organisational policies.
- Supporting internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Utilising accounting software to streamline financial processes and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration (Accounting option), or a closely related field from a recognised university.
- A minimum of three (3) years of proven work experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within an NGO, international organisation, or corporate setting in Uganda.
- Professional certification such as ACCA or CPA is a significant advantage.
- High proficiency in using major accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High level of integrity and ethical standards in handling confidential financial information.
