About the Role

As an Internal Auditor at IMB, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the bank's assets and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. You will conduct independent, objective audits of our operations, financial systems, and internal controls. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute independent audits of the bank's operations, processes, and financial controls.
• Assess and evaluate financial, operational, and compliance risks across all departments.
• Analyse the effectiveness of existing internal controls and recommend improvements.
• Prepare detailed audit reports with clear findings and actionable recommendations.
• Present audit results and insights to senior management and relevant committees.
• Follow up on the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure compliance.
• Stay updated on changes in Ugandan banking regulations, auditing standards, and best practices.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised Ugandan or international university.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA(U), or CIA is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in internal auditing, preferably within the banking or financial services sector in Uganda.
• Strong knowledge of International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and Ugandan banking regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office applications.
