Finance Officer Job at Old Mutual Uganda - Entebbe

Old Mutual Uganda is seeking a qualified and experienced Finance Officer to join our dynamic team in Entebbe. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to contribute to a leading financial services institution with a strong legacy in Uganda.

As a Finance Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of our operations. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, and strict compliance with Ugandan regulations and company policies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist in the development, monitoring, and analysis of organisational budgets.
• Ensure full compliance with local tax laws (URA), financial regulations, and internal controls.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including reconciliations and ledger maintenance.
• Utilise accounting software proficiently to process transactions and generate reports.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Contribute to financial planning and forecasting activities.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• A full professional accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA is mandatory.
• A minimum of 3 years of proven work experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the financial services or insurance sector in Uganda.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and MS Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of Ugandan accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• High level of integrity and professionalism.
