This senior role is critical for ensuring the financial integrity and sustainability of our life-changing programmes across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Oversee all financial operations, budgeting, and financial reporting for World Vision Uganda programmes.
• Lead the development and management of annual budgets and financial forecasts in alignment with organisational goals.
• Ensure strict compliance with donor regulations (USAID, EU, UN, etc.), Ugandan government laws, and World Vision International financial policies.
• Coordinate and manage both internal and external audit processes, implementing recommendations for improved financial controls.
• Provide strategic financial analysis and insights to senior management to support decision-making for Uganda operations.
• Manage treasury functions, cash flow planning, and foreign exchange risk for the country office.
• Supervise and mentor the finance team, fostering professional development and capacity building.
• Prepare and present timely financial reports to stakeholders, including donors, the board, and headquarters.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Full professional accounting qualification: CPA (Uganda) or ACCA certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive finance management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior finance role within an International NGO or development sector in Uganda.
• Proven experience managing large, complex donor-funded budgets (e.g., USAID, DFID, EU).
• Excellent knowledge of Ugandan tax laws and statutory reporting requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• High level of integrity, accountability, and commitment to ethical standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
