FHI 360, a leading international non-governmental organisation (NGO), is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Finance and Operations Manager to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior leadership role critical to the success of our development programmes across the country. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial management, procurement, and administrative operations for the Uganda country office.
- Lead the development, monitoring, and reporting of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure strict compliance with FHI 360 global policies, donor regulations (e.g., USAID, CDC), and Ugandan statutory requirements.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for headquarters, donors, and local authorities.
- Manage and supervise the finance, operations, and administrative team, providing mentorship and professional development.
- Streamline procurement processes and ensure value for money in all office expenditures.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard organisational assets.
- Serve as a key advisor to the Country Director on all financial and operational matters.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised university.
- Full professional accounting qualification (CPA or ACCA) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance and operations, with at least 5 years within the NGO/development sector in Uganda.
- Proven expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, and grant management for major donors.
- High proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SunSystems, ERP systems) and MS Excel.
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent understanding of Ugandan tax laws, labour laws, and NGO operational compliance.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
