FHI 360, a leading international non-profit organisation, is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Finance and Operations Director for the anticipated USAID/Uganda Integrated Health Systems Strengthening (IHSS) Activity. This is a senior leadership role based in Kampala, Uganda, offering a unique opportunity to oversee all financial, administrative, and operational functions for a major health systems project.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide overall leadership and management of all financial, administrative, and operational aspects of the USAID/Uganda IHSS Activity.
• Ensure strict compliance with USAID regulations, FHI 360 policies, and Ugandan statutory requirements.
• Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and financial accountability.
• Oversee procurement, logistics, human resources, and general administrative functions for the project.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, analysis, and forecasts to support strategic project decision-making.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the finance and operations team, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Implement robust internal controls and risk management procedures to safeguard project assets.
• Serve as a key liaison with USAID, government partners, and other stakeholders on financial and operational matters.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• A Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field is mandatory.
• A professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in financial and operations management for large, complex international development projects.
• Demonstrated experience working in Uganda or the East African region is a strong advantage.
• Proven expertise and strong knowledge of USAID rules, regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
• Excellent financial analysis, budgeting, and management skills.
• High proficiency in financial management software and the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Outstanding leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
• Fluency in English is required.
